Serhiy Fursa's spy thriller tells the story of Oleksandr Belyov, known as Alex. After an explosion during a terrorist attack, a successful crisis manager of a major bank loses his memory. At the same time, one of the world's most wanted terrorists, Amin, seeks to find a man without a past to use him in his own criminal plans. Alex finds himself at the center of a dangerous game where the interests of terrorists, high-ranking Russian intelligence officials, CIA agents, and Mossad intersect.
This is a story about loss of identity, manipulation, and the attempt to regain control over one’s own life. The novel explores the themes of memory and personality. Who is a person without their past? Is it possible to rebuild oneself if someone else tries to turn you into a tool? The author combines action with reflections on good and evil, choosing sides, and taking responsibility for the consequences of one’s decisions.
The plot unfolds across different countries, adding scale and dynamics to the story. The style is cinematic, with tense scenes and vivid dialogues. Alex’s character gradually reveals itself—not only as a mysterious professional but also as a person with doubts, fears, and psychological trauma. The atmosphere resembles classic spy action films but with an emphasis on the hero’s internal transformation.
